Role Overview
The Legal Manager will be responsible for providing end-to-end legal advisory and compliance support across business operations. The role will oversee contract management, statutory and regulatory compliance, litigation coordination, and risk management while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to enable compliant and ethical business growth.

Key Responsibilities
1. Legal Advisory & Compliance
Provide legal advice across business verticals on commercial, regulatory, and operational matters.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws including FSSAI, Legal Metrology, Consumer Protection, Data Privacy, and ASCI guidelines.
Advise on product labelling, marketing communication, and promotional activities.
2. Contract Management
Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial contracts and agreements.
Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including documentation and repository maintenance.
Support business teams in negotiations while safeguarding company interests.
3. Secretarial & Regulatory Support
Ensure secretarial compliances for an unlisted private limited company.
Support statutory and internal audits, licenses, and regulatory filings.
Coordinate with external consultants and authorities as required.
4. Risk, Litigation & Governance
Manage and coordinate litigation matters with external counsels.
Drive Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Liaise with Corporate IP and Ethics teams to ensure governance and policy compliance.
4. Key Interfaces
1. Internal: Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Essar Legal Team
2. External: External Legal Counsels, Regulatory Authorities, Auditors, Consultants, Government Bodies
5. Required Skills
5a. Functional Skills
Strong legal drafting, research, and negotiation skills
In-depth knowledge of FSSAI, Legal Metrology, ASCI, Consumer & Data Privacy laws
Contract lifecycle management and commercial legal support
Risk assessment and regulatory compliance management
5b. Behavioural Skills
Proactive and self-driven approach
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration
Excellent written and verbal communication
Effective time management and prioritization
6. Qualifications and Experience
Law Graduate (LLB – full-time) from a reputed institute in India
Qualified Company Secretary (CS – ICSI) preferred but not mandatory
4+ years of in-house legal experience, preferably in Foods / FMCG / Pharma / Manufacturing
Experience handling legal matters with exposure to secretarial compliances.
