Expediting & Follow-Up Engineer – Post Purchase Order - SCM

Summary:
Responsible for monitoring, expediting, and ensuring timely delivery of all post-purchase order (PO) supply items for large-scale solar projects. The role involves close coordination with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams to avoid delays and maintain project schedules. Present the Project Supply Status periodically daily/ weekly basis, make the MIS and reports of follow-up and Supply progress, work in anticipation to highlight the project’s supply probable delays
Key Responsibilities:
• Order Tracking & Follow-Up:
• Monitor all issued POs for solar panels, inverters, MMS components, and balance-of-system items (Cables, Transformers, Switchgear, SCADA, Panels, Substation Items and all C - Class Items).
• Regularly follow up with vendors for production status, dispatch schedules, and documentation. Visit at Supplier’s place as if needed to ensure timely completion of production and despatches.
• Expediting & Coordination:
• Identify potential delays and proactively resolve bottlenecks with the help of buyers and SCM heads.
• Coordinate with logistics teams for shipping, customs clearance, and site delivery.
• Documentation & Compliance:
• Ensure all shipping documents, inspection reports, and certifications are in order as per SWREL requirements.
• Maintain compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements in the despatch documents.
• Reporting & Communication:
• Prepare daily/weekly status reports for management and project teams.
• Escalate critical delays and propose mitigation plans with the buyers and SCM heads.
Qualifications & Skills:
•
Education:
B.E. /
B. Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/ Any Engineering or equivalent with SCM post order expediting experience.
•
Experience:
3–10 years in expediting and supply chain for EPC or renewable energy projects.
•
Skills:
• Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of logistics, Incoterms, and ERP systems.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and multi-task effectively.
