Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site General Manager role for Knitted Garments / Apparel Manufacturing, based in Tiruppur Taluka. The General Manager will oversee end-to-end factory operations, including knitting, dyeing/processing coordination, cutting, stitching, finishing, quality control, and dispatch to ensure on-time delivery and cost-efficient production. The role involves planning production schedules, allocating resources, monitoring line efficiency, and implementing process improvements to meet customer quality and compliance standards.
The General Manager will lead and develop cross-functional teams, coordinate with merchandising, sourcing, and logistics, and manage vendor and buyer communication as needed. The position also includes responsibility for budgeting, cost control, capacity planning, safety, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing setup.
Qualifications
Strong experience in knitted garments / apparel manufacturing, with proven ability to manage end-to-end factory operations and production planning.
Demonstrated skills in quality management, process improvement, lean manufacturing, and compliance with industry standards and buyer requirements.
Leadership capabilities, including team management, people development, conflict resolution, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Competence in vendor and buyer coordination, basic commercial understanding, and comfort working with production reports, KPIs, and ERP or production management systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Garment Technology, Production Management, or a related field;
an advanced degree or specialized certifications in apparel manufacturing are an advantage.
Minimum of 8–12 years of progressive experience in apparel/knitwear factories, including prior experience in a senior supervisory or managerial role.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under tight timelines and manage multiple orders and styles simultaneously.
Good communication skills in English and relevant regional languages, with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders
