About the Role:
We’re seeking a Senior Manager – Formulation / R&D to lead end-to-end product formulation and development for a fast-growing skincare and personal care brand. The role will focus on developing high-performance, science-backed products from concept to commercial launch.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently design, formulate, and reverse-engineer high-performance skincare and personal care products.
Develop active-based formulations and advanced sunscreen systems, including UV filters, boosting systems, and SPF/UVAPF testing.
Lead stability testing, preservative system development, product troubleshooting, and scale-up problem-solving.
Drive the complete NPD stage-gate process, from concept development to commercial launch.
Partner with Consumer Technical Insights teams to translate consumer feedback and sensory diagnostics into formulation improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate formulation strategy, technical trade-offs, and data-backed decisions clearly.
Requirements:
✅ 6–9 years of hands-on formulation experience in Beauty & Personal Care, Skincare, Cosmetics, or D2C.
✅ Proven experience independently taking products from concept to launch.
✅ Strong knowledge of emulsion systems, HLB, phase behavior, rheology, raw materials, actives, and preservative systems.
✅ Experience in troubleshooting stability, formulation, and scale-up challenges.
Preferred:
⭐ Working knowledge of BIS/CDSCO regulations and EU Cosmetics Regulation.
⭐ Experience in consumer-led product development, sensory evaluation, and sunscreen formulation.
