Key Responsibilities:
Build and strengthen the short, medium, and long-term product launch pipeline for multiple business units within the Domestic Formulations business
Identify potential products for launch through market intelligence, pipeline analysis, competitive assessment, and licensing opportunities
Evaluate product proposals received from Sales & Marketing, R&D, Medical Affairs, and external partners
Prepare detailed business cases and commercial evaluations to support go/no-go decisions for new product launches
Drive end-to-end execution of approved product launches by coordinating with cross-functional teams including R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, Medical Affairs, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, and Sales & Marketing
Coordinate with third-party vendors and manufacturing partners for outsourced launches wherever applicable
Support procurement and commercial teams in negotiations related to supply agreements, exclusivity arrangements, and transfer pricing
Monitor project timelines, identify risks and bottlenecks, and ensure timely execution through proactive follow-up and mitigation planning
Prepare periodic reports, presentations, and updates for senior management on pipeline progress and launch status
Generate therapeutic, market, and competitive insights using sources such as CDSCO SEC minutes, CTRI registrations, US FDA updates, global clinical trial data, IQVIA, SMSRC, and other industry databases
Evaluate in-licensing opportunities and assess their commercial and strategic viability
Critical
Competencies:
Strong understanding of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, including DCGI and FSSAI regulatory pathways
Good knowledge of third-party manufacturing processes and vendor ecosystems including P2P vendors and CDMOs
Awareness of generic pharmaceutical regulations including BA/BE requirements, clinical trial processes, and approval pathways
Understanding of market intelligence sources and databases used for identifying launch opportunities and pipeline evaluation
Experience using pharmaceutical databases such as IQVIA, SMSRC, Ipsos, and similar platforms
Strong commercial acumen with understanding of pharmaceutical sales and marketing dynamics
Educational
Qualification:
B.Pharm / M.Pharm + MBA (preferred)
Experience:
7-10 years' experience in functions like business development/licensing and marketing from reputed Indian / MNC pharmaceutical companies, including third party manufacturers (P2P / CDMO); at least 5 years of relevant BD experience.
