Job Description – Livelihood Specialist

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Management, Economics, Social Work, Rural Development, or a related discipline from a recognised university.

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of work experience in the Public Sector, preferably in the Social Sector.
Experience in leading Women Empowerment of Rural Livelihood, multidisciplinary teams and managing projects as a lead member.
Mandatory experience in World Bank-funded projects, along with relevant certificates as proof of involvement.
Prior experience in government or UN agency-funded projects is preferable.

Experience with initiatives related to women's economic empowerment in West Bengal is highly desired.

Skills &

Competencies:

Strong understanding of livelihood and employment landscapes.
Excellent communication in English & Bengali, with strong analytical and presentation skills.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong networking, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
Willingness to travel and manage multiple assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement livelihood action plans in alignment with WEP initiatives.
Conduct skill gap analysis and link women to employment and self-employment opportunities.
Design and implement scalable entrepreneurship models for women.
Engage with the government, private sector, and NGOs for partnership and resource mobilisation.
Review existing employment programs and integrate them with WEP interventions.
Contribute to research, impact assessments, and best practice documentation.
Support stakeholder capacity building and policy recommendations for improving women's workforce participation.
