Job Summary
The Fleet Repair & Maintenance Executive is responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance, repair, and optimal performance of the company's vehicle fleet. The role focuses on minimizing vehicle downtime, managing repair schedules, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of fleet vehicles
Inspect vehicles regularly to identify repair and maintenance requirements
Coordinate with garages, service centers, and spare parts vendors
Monitor repair quality, costs, and turnaround time
Maintain accurate records of vehicle service, repairs, insurance, PUC, and fitness certificates
Ensure compliance with transport laws, safety standards, and company policies
Handle emergency breakdowns and arrange timely repairs
Track fuel efficiency, maintenance costs, and vehicle performance
Support fleet audits and prepare maintenance reports
Coordinate with drivers regarding vehicle issues and safe driving practices
Requirements & Qualifications
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering or related field (preferred)
Proven experience in fleet maintenance within transport or logistics companies
Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanics (cars, buses, trucks, or commercial vehicles)
Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems
Ability to manage vendors and negotiate repair costs
Basic computer skills (MS Excel, maintenance logs, ERP preferred)
Good communication and coordination skills
