Our Global Operations Centre in Mumbai plays a key role in supporting our UK and European operations by providing freight forwarding, shipment coordination, customer service, pricing support, and operational excellence across multiple transport modes.
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support our European freight forwarding operations. The successful candidate will coordinate international shipments, obtain freight quotations, liaise with carriers and overseas agents, monitor cargo movements, and ensure smooth execution of air freight, sea freight, road freight, and courier shipments.

Responsibilities
Freight Operations
Coordinate international Air Freight, Sea Freight, Road Freight, and Courier shipments.
Handle shipment bookings with airlines, shipping lines, consolidators, and transport providers.
Monitor shipment progress from origin to destination.
Ensure all operational milestones are updated accurately.
Coordinate customs clearance activities with brokers and local partners.
Arrange collection, delivery, warehousing, and transshipment requirements.
Pricing & Quotations
Obtain freight rates from carriers, airlines, shipping lines, and logistics partners.
Prepare customer quotations and pricing proposals.
Maintain pricing databases and supplier rate sheets.
Compare multiple service providers to achieve competitive pricing and service levels.
Support tender submissions and commercial proposals.
Customer Service
Act as a point of contact for customers, overseas agents, and suppliers.
Provide shipment status updates and proactive communication.
Resolve operational issues and service-related queries.
Ensure customer requirements are fulfilled within agreed timelines.
Documentation
Prepare and review shipping documentation including:
Commercial Invoices
Packing Lists
Air Waybills (AWB)
Bills of Lading (B/L)
Delivery Orders
Export and Import Documentation
Customs-related documents
Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Vendor & Agent Coordination
Liaise with global agents and logistics partners.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and service providers.
Support procurement of logistics services and rate negotiations.
Coordinate special cargo movements including project cargo, urgent shipments, and time-critical deliveries.
Internal Reporting
Update operational systems and shipment trackers.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
Assist with KPI tracking and service performance monitoring.
Support invoicing and shipment profitability reviews.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
1-3 years experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, or Transportation.
Knowledge of Air Freight and Sea Freight operations.
IATA A
ccreditation
(Cargo Handling Course)
Good understanding of international shipping documentation.
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred
Experience supporting UK, European, or international freight operations.
Knowledge of Incoterms.
Understanding of customs procedures and international trade.
Experience using freight forwarding or logistics management systems.
Exposure to project cargo, marine logistics, or ship spares logistics would be advantageous.
Working Hours
Primarily aligned with UK and European business hours.
Flexibility may be required to support urgent and time-critical shipments.
