Overview

Location:

Ball Memorial Hospital

2401 W. University Ave

Muncie, IN 47303

Schedule: ONSITE ONLY -
PRN
- As Needed - including Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings, Nights
- Rotating Weekends and Holidays

Training is 5-7 weeks Monday-Friday on all 3 shifts

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handling Internal and External Calls
  • Screening Patient Information
  • Paging, Documenting and Handling Operational/Facility Needs and Emergency Procedures
  • Dispatching IU Health Police
  • Utilizing & Scheduling Internal and External Providers
  • Providing Directory Services
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/ GED Required
  • Proficiency in computers & telephone inquiries required
  • Customer service experience required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Strong verbal communicator
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Call Center experience
  • Medical Office/Healthcare Facility Experience Preferred

Job Description

We are searching for a team-oriented, energetic individual who takes pride in providing excellent service to patients, employees, and providers to join our team at IU Health, Ball Memorial Hospital. As the Customer Service Representative for over 100+ offices, you will be the primary contact of all of IU Health in the East Central Region functioning as the information hub that answers, routes, and manages critical and non-critical calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

This position involves processing internal and external calls that involve screening for patient information, overhead and digital paging, documenting emergent calls, handling after hours service calls, working as dispatch for security, and utilizing on-call schedules and providers for emergencies after hours.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Requires the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
