Indiana University Health Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Anesthesia Nocturnist to join the anesthesia care team at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. This role is designated for a physician who thrives in the overnight environment and is passionate about providing high quality obstetric anesthesia care. The Nocturnist will play a key role in supporting the hospital's Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring consistent, expert coverage for epidurals, emergent cases and OB surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide overnight anesthesia coverage with sole focus on obstetric anesthesia
- Expect to manage 3-5 different procedures during shifts including the following:
- Labor epidurals
- Spinals
- C-Sections
- OB Anesthesia consults
- Epidural Blood Patch consultation / procedures
- Coverage of rare emergency airway (primary coverage is by 24/7 in-house intensivists)
- Collaborate closely with obstetricians, CRNAs/CAAs, nurses and support staff
- Participate in call responsibilities aligned with nocturnist scheduling
- Shift: 7pm - 7am, Night OB Anesthesia Coverage
- 1 Week On / 2 weeks off
- General anesthesia call shifts and daytime moonlighting shifts available for pickup on off weeks for extra earning potential.
