• Oversee the maintenance department, ensuring optimal operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all hotel systems and equipment.
• Implement strategies for improving engineering processes, safety protocols, and quality assurance.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to design specifications.
• Provide technical expertise and support to resolve complex engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of engineering projects.
• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians.
• Ensure maintenance programs are used and tracked, with quarterly PMs for all rooms.
• Stay current with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in engineering.
• Administer life‑safety programs, including fire safety, emergency procedures, and security protocols.
• Monitor and control departmental expenses, aligning with the hotel’s financial objectives.
• Supervise external contractors, ensuring work meets standards and budget.
• Communicate regularly with hotel management regarding property condition and propose cost‑effective solutions.
• Ensure prompt and efficient resolution of maintenance requests to maintain guest satisfaction.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment through coaching and support.
• Maintain strict safety and security protocols, including proper handling of keys and emergency procedures.
• Participate in daily hotel operations meetings and contribute to overall hotel strategy.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager.
• Uphold the company’s values and standards in all actions and decisions.

Education:

Minimum of a 2‑year degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Experience:

Hotel Engineering experience preferred.

• Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems – HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment issues.
• In‑depth understanding of OSHA regulations and other safety standards; maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Preferably hold or be able to obtain a first‑class operating engineer’s license in boilers and air conditioning.
• Proven experience managing multi‑disciplinary engineering teams and complex projects.
• Must be able to work in various conditions, including extreme temperatures and noisy environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to travel as needed within the assigned area.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
