Full‑Time Hospital Pharmacist
Cardinal Health is recruiting a Full‑Time Pharmacist to work primarily at AMG Specialty Hospital – Muncie, IN, with split time at Greenfield, IN.
Hours:
Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM and weekends 8 AM–12 PM.
Working in a hospital system pharmacy outsourced to Cardinal Health, the Pharmacist II adjusts and dispenses medication to patients, verifies physician orders using the pharmacy information system, provides patient education, supervises Pharmacy Technicians, and manages compliance tasks related to accreditation, narcotics control, and inventory management.
Responsibilities- Apply expert knowledge of drugs and protocols to verify physician orders using the pharmacy information system and address automated alerts.
- Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and ensure compliant and efficient operations, checking all work in line with state board regulations.
- Adjust dosages based on established protocols and complete antimicrobial stewardship tasks.
- Educate patients on medication use and expected effects, especially for polypharmacy cases.
- Manage narcotics, inventory control, and compliance with documentation and checklists.
- Communicate with nurses and physicians to verify orders and obtain additional information.
- Assist the Pharmacy Director with accreditation maintenance and operational changes.
- Licensed pharmacist in Indiana in good standing, or willingness to become licensed.
- In‑patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Flexibility to work various shifts.
- Preferred experience with intravenous medications or willingness to obtain it.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Manual dexterity for lifting and handling small objects.
- Computer savvy to operate multiple pharmacy information systems.
- Vendor credentialing experience may be required.
