Position Overview

As an Injury Prevention Coordinator, you will play a vital role in reducing injuries and enhancing trauma care across Indiana. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, coordinating, and executing injury prevention initiatives aligned with trauma center needs
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to design and monitor effective injury prevention programs
  • Conducting public education efforts to promote injury awareness and safety
  • Ensuring compliance with the American College of Surgeons “Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient” standards related to injury prevention
  • Overseeing programs such as Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT)
Qualifications
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in Nursing OR Masters Degree in Public Health.
  • ATS Injury Prevention course required within 1 year of hire.
  • Requires two years of program coordination experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of experience within hospital setting and basic knowledge of a trauma patient's care, public health, and/or epidemiology preferred.
  • Requires working knowledge on injury prevention legislation activities and state activities.
  • Child passenger safety technician/instructor preferred.
