About The Family & Social Services Administration (FSSA):
The Division of Disability, Aging and Rehabilitative Services supports older adults and individuals with disabilities through community resources.

Role Overview

The Bureau of Developmental Disability Services – Service Coordinator monitors BDDS placements for individuals with intellectual disabilities, ensuring health and safety while facilitating skill acquisition and enhancement. Responsibilities include Intake, Eligibility, Level of Care, and Service Monitoring.

Ideal candidate: bachelor’s degree in social services or a health‑related field plus at least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities. Ability to travel required.

Salary Statement

Starts at $47,320.00, commensurate with education or experience.

A Day In The Life
  • Monitor key performance indicators to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Assist in developing, updating, and monitoring all policies & procedures.
  • Answer customer questions about program policies and procedures.
  • Act as technical consultant to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and disseminate monthly & annual program reports.
  • Review the budget and ensure appropriate allocation of program assets.
  • Monitor compliance and recommend efficiencies.
  • Prepare training materials and train agency employees.
  • Deliver communication plans.
  • Serve as liaison between agency and other state and federal agencies.

Other duties may be assigned.

What You’ll Need For Success

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ year experience, or
  • Associate's degree and 3+ years experience, or
  • At least 5+ years experience applying similar knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Additional knowledge and skills include:

  • Working knowledge in program subject matter.
  • Specialized knowledge of program area, rules, and regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of federal and state laws governing the programs.
  • Ability to implement new principles and policies.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems.
  • Capability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of accounting & budget principles.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodation.
Supervisory Responsibilities

May be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
