This 18-bed unit is committed to high-quality, compassionate care for multi-specialty med-surg patients, including those with heart failure and cardiac diagnoses. We focus on a partnership approach to deliver excellent care. Our nurses are characterized by clinical expertise, a spirit of inquiry, professionalism, and relationship-building. We care for patients with cardiac diagnoses, step-down from critical care, respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, and other conditions.

This unit offers a strong foundation for nursing skills and critical thinking through collaboration with a dedicated team.

Nursing skills gained on this unit include:

• ACLS certification required
• Caring for progressive care patients (step-down from critical care)
• Preparation for cardiac procedures

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN);
  Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active RN license in Indiana or a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license
• Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA
• Additional certifications may be required based on unit needs
