Role Description The Site Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations on commercial construction projects. This role coordinates and supervises subcontractors, site staff, and vendors to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project plans and specifications. The Site Superintendent monitors schedules, manages site logistics, leads daily coordination meetings, and updates project managers on progress, issues, and resource needs.

Additional responsibilities include enforcing safety standards, maintaining quality control, documenting site activities, and supporting inspections and punch lists. The role requires proactive problem-solving, clear communication with clients and partners, and consistent alignment with Klae Construction’s standards of craftsmanship and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising commercial construction projects, including managing subcontractors, coordinating trades, and overseeing daily site activities.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations, and reading/interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in project scheduling, site logistics planning, and basic construction documentation (daily reports, RFIs, change orders).
• Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with project managers, clients, inspectors, and field crews.
• Demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety, including implementing and monitoring safety programs and practices.
• Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and quality control on all phases of construction.
• Experience with construction management software and basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, digital plans) is preferred.
• Several years of experience in a Site Superintendent, Foreperson, or similar field leadership role in commercial construction.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or a degree in construction management or a related field is an asset.
• Ability to work full time on-site in the New York City Metropolitan Area and to adapt to changing project needs and timelines.
