We’re currently seeking aSenior Environmental Engineer (Water)to join ourWater GroupinMundelein, Illinois. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer ready to take a leadership role, mentor others, and advance their career within a company that values innovation, teamwork, and professional growth.

• Lead the planning, design, and implementation ofmunicipal water and wastewater projectsacross northern Illinois.
• Manage design tasks, budgets, schedules, and project coordination from concept through construction.
• Prepare engineering reports, calculations, and detailed design plans.
• Collaborate with municipalities, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Support business development efforts and contribute to the continued growth of HMG’s Water Group in the region.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 5–8 yearsof experience in water and wastewater engineering design.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensein Illinois, or the ability to obtain via reciprocity.
• Proficiency withMicro StationorAutoCAD.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency inMicrosoft Office(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to teamwork and quality.
