Provides technical and process engineering services and guidance to the Technical/Manufacturing departments in support of projects including development and commercialization of new products. The Senior Process Engineer will assist process development, operations and technical groups in developing and implementing process improvements, troubleshooting production/quality issues, and transferring process/troubleshooting knowledge to the organization. Provides technical support to sales, marketing, and customers as needed in troubleshooting existing products, enhancing existing products, and development of new products.

Responsible for implementing and leading Continuous Improvement initiatives and facilitating world class operations management methodologies throughout the organization.

• Provide electrical controls and PLC programming support for manufacturing equipment, process improvements, and new product commercialization efforts.
• Lead and support PLC-based troubleshooting for complex production, quality, and downtime issues in collaboration with Maintenance and Controls resources.
• Support the design, modification, and optimization of control systems, including PLC logic, HMIs, sensors, drives, and automation hardware.
• Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and OEMs during equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning, ensuring controls functionality meets process and safety requirements.
• Support Environmental Health & Safety for the facility, following all current policies and procedures and improving the Environmental Health and Safety performance of the facility.
• Coordinate project orders with Production Planning to best fit production schedule with minimal impact to customer orders.
• Provide technical guidance to Maintenance operations to make improvements and resolve issues based on process knowledge.
• Lead troubleshooting for production and process problems; communicate with manufacturing, quality, and technical teams regarding run problems; investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Review data and trial reports from technical teams for products being developed and report concerns and results to the appropriate department managers.
• Own production trials, coordinating production trials and providing accurate feedback to Trial owners (Manufacturing, Technical Manager and Marketing).
• Analyze trial quality, output and waste data to determine trial effectiveness and commercialization readiness.
• Monitor and improve product quality; resolve quality issues and dispositions; investigate assignable causes of customer complaints and coordinate with customers to resolve and prevent issues. Regularly visit customers and coordinate operator visits.
• Write, perform, analyze, and report on trials, scale-ups, and validations for manufacturing processes; make recommendations based on trials.
• Generate ideas for product enhancements, cost savings, and new products from all sources; communicate with Sales, Marketing, and the Customer effectively.
• Provide suggestions for product enhancements to R&D engineers to improve manufacturing results based on process experience.
• Serve as a go-to resource for other engineers, operations, and maintenance for solutions to process or quality issues.
• Assess current processes to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to management.
• Target and resolve repetitive customer claim issues by working with customers and manufacturing.
• Lead continuous improvement teams to deliver process and business improvements; identify and resolve data-related issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
