Controller Manufacturing

Roadster Shop is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations at our Mundelein, IL facility. This is a hands‑on leadership role within a private equity‑backed manufacturing company
, offering the opportunity to strengthen financial processes, partner with executive leadership, and support continued business growth.

The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, lead the month‑end close, manage financial reporting, and supervise AP and AR teams. This role reports to the CFO and works closely with the CEO and leadership team.

FLSA: Exempt
Location: Mundelein, IL - On-site
Reports to: CFO

• Oversee month‑end close and financial reporting
• Manage daily accounting operations including GL, treasury, and cash management
• Supervise Accounts Payable and billing functions
• Lead and develop a team of four accounting staff (AP/AR)
• Manage sales and use tax compliance
• Prepare weekly and monthly KPI and financial analysis reports
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes
• Assist with FP&A, cost accounting, ROI analysis, and system improvements
• Occasional travel (less than 10%)

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong GAAP and cost accounting knowledge
• Experience managing month‑end close and general ledger
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
• Leadership experience overseeing AP and AR functions
• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Experience with Global Shop Solutions
• Standard cost accounting experience
• Private equity or leveraged business experience
• Experience implementing accounting process improvements
