Title: Derivatives Margin & Collateral Operations Officer
Office Status: Hybrid – New York, NY
Base Salary: 100k - $130k + Bonus (Total Comp: $300k - $400k)
Overview:
This opportunity sits within the Post-Trade team of a leading quantitative trading firm, offering a highly analytical and systems-oriented role at the intersection of margin operations, collateral management, and trading infrastructure. The role combines daily execution of margin data management, reconciliation, and dispute resolution with a meaningful platform-building mandate — architecting and maintaining a centralized margin and collateral data platform that supports a high-volume, multi-asset global trading operation.
With a strong emphasis on automation, scalable system design, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams, this is the right seat for a detail-oriented collateral and margin professional with 3–5 years of experience who combines deep knowledge of margining practices across OTC derivatives, futures, and cleared swaps with an entrepreneurial mindset and the technical fluency to build clean, end-to-end operational solutions in a fast-paced, technology-first environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute daily collateral functions across margin data management, margin reconciliation, and dispute handling; ensure accuracy and integrity of margin data across counter parties and asset classes
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support margin replication, cost of capital analytics, and reconciliation workflows across the firm's global trading platform
- Architect and maintain a centralized margin and collateral data platform for external margin data storage; design scalable systems and processes that support a high-volume, multi-asset trading operation
- Document and maintain margin mappings and controls; ensure consistent and auditable recordkeeping across all collateral workflows
- Support onboarding of new counter parties; ensure data integration aligns with existing system architecture and internal controls standards
- Stay informed about evolving margin models and broker reporting practices; translate relevant developments into scalable internal systems and process improvements
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to design, optimize, and automate collateral and margin tools; contribute to ongoing automation initiatives across the Post Trade function
