Operations Associate

A global macro hedge fund is looking to add an Operations Associate to its growing New York team.

This is a varied role working within a boutique hedge fund, offering the opportunity to get involved in the day-to-day running of the trading operation and work closely with the investment team to ensure trades are processed accurately and efficiently.

The position covers a range of asset classes, including equities, bonds, futures and other financial instruments. Responsibilities will include trade capture and verification, resolving booking discrepancies, monitoring confirmations and settlements, completing daily cash and position reconciliations, and investigating operational breaks.

You'll also provide ongoing support to the trading desk, handling queries relating to expiries, contract rolls and corporate actions.

As the business continues to grow, there's also the opportunity to gain exposure to other areas of the firm, including Treasury, Risk, Finance and Portfolio Management Systems.

This would suit someone looking to broaden their asset class exposure, take on a varied operational role and develop their understanding of different areas of a hedge fund.

Experience required:

• A a number of years experience within financial services, ideally in Operations, Trade Support or Middle Office.
• Exposure to financial products such as equities, fixed income or exchange-traded derivatives.
• A good understanding of trade processing, settlements and reconciliations.
