Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Residential Maintenance Manager for our multifamily housing community in Mundelein, Illinois. Our maintenance personnel are a vital part of the property management team. In this role, you will work closely with our Service and Community Managers to manage the community's day-to-day operations.

You will help to oversee and manage the service team to ensure outstanding resident service and maintain all mechanical systems. This position requires a hands‑on leader who is committed to maintaining a safe, efficient, and well‑maintained community environment.

Our compensation range is $28 to $30/hr., commensurate with experience and skill level, plus commissions and quarterly bonus potential.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing daily service team operations.
  • Oversee and perform maintenance requests and ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Assist with unit turns to ensure units are move‑in ready and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical systems, with a focus on plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with Service and Community Managers to uphold community standards and resident satisfaction.
  • Help train, mentor, and support maintenance staff to foster a cooperative and positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and property policies.
  • Participate in inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Be willing to participate in a rotating, emergency on‑call schedule.
  • Assist with 24/7 snow removal in the winter months.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years in multifamily housing with advanced knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Experience in service management within a residential community or similar environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to create a positive and cooperative work environment.
  • Problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
