Anesthesiologist

A Level III Trauma Center in Munster, Indiana is seeking a locum tenens anesthesiologist for ongoing day shift coverage starting ASAP. In this role, the clinician will provide anesthesia services under a 1:6 medical supervision model with 50% hands-on MD involvement across a diverse surgical case mix. The position offers an engaging clinical environment utilizing Epic EMR with negotiable call coverage options.

Practice Info

• Level III Trauma Center with an active operating room program
• Medical supervision model (1:6) with 50% hands-on MD involvement
• Surgical case mix includes general surgery, cardiac procedures, optional lungs and vascular cases, weekly spine procedures, light trauma volume, and pediatric cases for patients generally age 2 and older
• CRNAs and MDs perform independent regional anesthesia
• Utilizes Epic EMR
• On-site location type

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia services during day shifts at an operating room
• Participate in a 1:6 medical supervision model with 50% hands-on MD involvement
• Manage a surgical case mix including general surgery, cardiac procedures via a dedicated open heart team, optional lungs and vascular cases, limited neurological cases, light trauma volume, and pediatric cases

Shift & Schedule

• Dates needed: ASAP - Ongoing
• Day shift
• Call coverage is negotiable, with occasional after-hours call required including emergent cases such as C-sections

Qualifications

• Board certification required
• Prescriptive authority required
• Credentialing takes approximately 90 days and temporary privileges are not available
