Mechanical Trade Maintenance Technician - Limerick - 144791. Jones Engineering is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our pharmaceutical manufacturing team. The successful candidate will support the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of mechanical systems and equipment across the site, ensuring adherence to GMP standards and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Shift Pattern: 4-Cycle Shift (24/7 Coverage).
Location: Limerick.
Department: Maintenance / Engineering.
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities- Perform routine and reactive mechanical maintenance on production and utility equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults and carry out repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Support equipment changeovers, calibrations, and validations as required.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed in line with GMP and ALCOA+ principles.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with site SOPs, GMP, and safety regulations.
- Complete documentation (e.g., CMMS, logbooks, work orders) to required standards.
- Participate in audits and inspections, providing technical input and documentation as needed.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including E&I technicians, operations, and quality.
- Participate in daily shift handovers and weekly team meetings.
- Support training and mentoring of junior technicians where applicable.
- Identify opportunities for equipment reliability improvements and cost savings.
- Contribute to root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Support implementation of site-wide capability frameworks and upskilling initiatives.
- Recognized Mechanical Trade Qualification (e.g., QQI Level 6 or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a maintenance role within a GMP/pharmaceutical environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems including pumps, valves, HVAC, and utilities.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo) and GMP documentation practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
- Experience with cleanroom environments and aseptic processes.
- Knowledge of EHS standards and participation in safety audits.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work across shifts and respond to out-of-hours callouts if required.
