Position Summary

The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout the facility. This role ensures residents, staff, and visitors enjoy a safe and comfortable environment by keeping all systems in top working condition and compliant with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration units.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate service records.
  • Monitor and adjust systems to maintain proper temperature, humidity, and air quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and state/federal regulations.
  • Respond promptly to service requests and emergency repairs.
  • Coordinate with facility leadership to minimize disruptions and downtime.
  • Support general maintenance tasks as needed to keep the building operating smoothly.
  • Maintain inventory of HVAC tools, materials, and replacement parts.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • EPA Refrigeration Certification (Type I and II or Universal) required.
  • HVAC certification or technical training from an accredited program preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HVAC experience (healthcare or commercial facility preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of system diagnostics, controls, and repair techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a variety of indoor/outdoor environments.
