Overview

Economics and Finance (Finance), Tenure-Track Faculty at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#113090) in Finance at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026.

The salary is commensurate with education and experience.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Conduct research in finance areas including:
• Corporate finance
• Investments
• Financial markets and institutions
• Financial planning
• Behavioral finance
• Fintech
• Related fields
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
• High-quality research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals.

A terminal degree in finance or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution is required by the appointment date.

• Applicants with the following will receive special consideration:
• Professional experience in financial planning or wealth management.
• Holding designations such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or NABE Certified Business Economist (CBE).
• Financial analytics and planning software experience (e.g., eMoney, Money Guide Pro , Morningstar).
• Data analysis tools experience (e.g., Excel, R, Python).
• Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and experiential learning.
