The Department of Social Work at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#168060) at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date is August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be highly engaged in research and community service, pursue interdisciplinary collaboration with potential for external funding and contracts. The department expects a collaborative, engaged, student-centered approach to performance and responsibilities.

• Required Education – A terminal degree (PhD, DSW or equivalent) in social work and a Master of Social Work from a CSWE accredited program.
• Required Related Experience – Two (2) years of post-master's social work practice paid or volunteer experience.
• Required License/Registration/Certification – Licensed or license-eligible at the Master of Social Work level by appointment date.

• Experience in one or more areas of social work practice in micro, mezzo or macro settings and within an interdisciplinary perspective and scope.
• Evidence of or strong potential for securing external funding for research or community engagement.
• One (1) year of experience teaching in a higher education setting.
