Job SummaryThe College of Education at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure‑track faculty position (#115210) with expertise in literacy education and language development at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will engage in interdisciplinary teaching and research, including doctoral‑level literacy and language studies instruction.
Additional responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in elementary education, literacy, and curriculum and instruction.
A terminal degree in literacy education, language and literacy, curriculum and instruction, elementary education, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables- A focused and sustained research agenda with potential to advance the field of literacy education.
- A strong record of peer‑reviewed publications (commensurate with rank).
- Experience securing or potential to secure external research funding.
- Graduate‑level teaching experience.
- Experience mentoring graduate students or serving on dissertation committees.
- Proficiency in multiple teaching modalities (e.g., in‑person, online, hybrid).
- Experience in P–12 educational settings.
- Advanced skills in statistical methods and data analysis.
