Job Summary /Basic FunctionThe Department of Psychology at Middle Tennessee State University is seeking a dynamic and dedicated scholar for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#125040) in behavior analysis at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026.
Program OverviewBehavior Analysis at MTSU is a specialization within the Applied Research and Methodology concentration of our Psychology M.A. program. Our curriculum is a Verified Course Sequence, and we are actively pursuing ABAI accreditation. We are also expanding our undergraduate behavior analysis program, and this position will play a key role in its continued development. The faculty in the behavior analysis area all support both undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as
- applied behavior analysis.
- basic behavior analysis.
- ethics in behavior analysis.
- systems-level behavior analysis.
- additional topics based on your expertise and departmental needs (e.g., general psychology, research methods, learning theories, developmental psychology).
- Mentor graduate theses and support student research.
- Develop and maintain an active research program in your area of interest.
- Contribute to departmental and university service initiatives.
A terminal degree in behavior analysis, psychology, or special education is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables- current certification or eligibility for certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- evidence of or potential for external funding in research, community engagement, or contracts.
- interest and experience with graduate training and accreditation to support our pursuit of ABAI-accreditation for a master’s-level behavior analysis specialization.
