The Department of Computer Science at Middle Tennessee State University invites passionate educators and researchers to apply for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (rank of assistant or associate professor). As a Carnegie R2 institution, we seek a dynamic individual to inspire students through excellent teaching and build a vigorous, externally funded research program that actively engages undergraduate and graduate students. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026.

A terminal degree in computer science or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.

Applicants with expertise in quantum computing, cybersecurity, or game design will receive special consideration.

To successfully apply, applicants must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy, and statement of research or creative activities (as appropriate to the discipline) as separate attachments at the time of online application.

NOTE:

The research statement should outline the applicant's past contributions and future research plans in quantum computing, game design, cybersecurity, or other areas of computer science, and describe how their work will attract funding, engage students, and enhance the department’s strengths.
