We specialize in the development, construction and operation of RNG, landfill‑gas‑to‑electric and dairy digester facilities, operating around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline.
At our Middle Point facility in Murfreesboro, TN, the Operations Technician operates the landfill gas processing facility. We convert landfill gas into pipeline‑quality natural gas (High BTU or Renewable Natural Gas). The role includes operating and maintaining land‑fill‑gas‑to‑high‑BTU processing facilities, managing gas compressors, CO2 removal systems, thermal‑oxidizers, H2S removal systems, and performing sophisticated instrumentation and control repair, maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting.
ScheduleFour 12‑hour shifts covering 24/7 coverage: 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. Schedule may change based on business needs and management discretion.
Key Accountabilities- Own the safe operation of the plant during your shift, ensuring compliance with SOPs and safety/environmental standards.
- Perform periodic inspections and record operational data such as fluid levels, temperatures, and pressures.
- Review daily operating reports to maintain plant performance.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on plant instrumentation and equipment.
- Detect and correct faulty mechanical and electrical components.
- Operate sophisticated instrumentation and process control systems.
- Test electrical systems using ohmmeters and voltmeters.
- Repair electrical wiring up to 480 V.
- Notify leads of shutdown or major changes in power output.
- Maintain plant equipment and structures per manufacturer and Archaea Energy guidelines.
- Keep a clean workspace throughout the facility.
- Record daily operation logs.
- Assist with maintenance planning and outage activities.
- Order and procure parts as needed.
- Respond to callouts timely and work overtime when required.
- Perform analytical tests (pH, conductivity, methane, H2S, moisture).
- Support hazardous waste handling and management.
- Travel 25‑50% per month (first 12 months 50%; thereafter 25%).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Intermediate electrical, chemical and mechanical experience.
- Minimum 1‑3 years in landfill gas processing, chemical plant operations, industrial gas operations, or power plant operations.
- Knowledge of process control systems for landfill gas collection and processing.
- Technical and troubleshooting skills with technical manuals and schematics.
- Understanding of sensors and transducer systems, sensor calibration and troubleshooting.
- Basic math, gas chemistry, piping and instrumentation drawings.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Recognizes PLC status indicators and wiring colors.
- Interprets safety rules and operating instructions.
- Writes routine reports and correspondence.
- Communicates effectively with employees.
- Hands‑on mechanical and process equipment skills.
- Valid driver’s license and passes hearing and DOT drug test.

Compensation & BenefitsBase pay: $30‑$32 per hour.
Paid vacation: 120‑240 hours per year for full‑time employees (60‑240 hours for part‑time). Eligible for 9 paid holidays and 2 personal choice holidays.
