Actalent is hiring a Controls Engineer in Murfreesboro, TN. The position is permanent and requires on‑site presence with half‑days on Fridays, offering a 40‑hour work week with minimal overtime.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Controls Engineer to support a diverse range of projects, from small studies to large multi‑million dollar turnkey supplies. The ideal candidate will be team‑oriented, organized, capable of effective communication across all levels of the organization, and adept at meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed electrical specifications for selection, focusing on part and equipment design.
- Engage in PLC programming, primarily with Allen Bradley PLCs.
- Participate in the design and implementation of control system designs.
- Utilize expertise in instrumentation controls and equipment specification.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and industrial control systems.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and HMI programming, particularly with Factory Talk.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer Science, or Mechatronics (ABET‑accredited). Minimum one year of engineering experience.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Familiarity with variable frequency drive systems, motion control systems, sensors and transmitters, actuators, PID control, and communication networks.
- Willingness to travel when needed.
This role requires on‑site presence with half days on Fridays, offering a 40‑hour work week with minimal overtime. Engineers will travel to customer sites for meetings, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting, working with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, industrial instrumentation, and data acquisition measurement systems.
