About LIS Technologies Inc.
LIS Technologies Inc. (LIST) is commercializing CRISLA, a patented laser enrichment process for uranium enrichment, stable and medical isotope production, and advanced materials manufacturing. Our growing Oak Ridge engineering team develops next-generation gas separation and isotope enrichment systems built on decades of laser physics and mechanical design innovation.
The Role
Lead the planning, execution, and coordination of safe, efficient, technically rigorous laser enrichment testing. This role combines technical expertise in complex engineering systems—such as lasers, mechanical systems, or vacuum systems with system integration, project execution, and people management.
Working across engineering, test planning, operations, and data analysis, you’ll translate program objectives into test campaigns that support system development and scale-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily test operations, coordinating personnel, equipment, facilities, and schedules.
- Develop and review test plans, procedures, operating parameters, and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with data analysis and modeling teams to evaluate results, identify performance trends, and define follow-up experiments.
- Lead troubleshooting of mechanical, process, vacuum, gas-handling, and integrated test systems.
- Manage and develop the test operations team, define responsibilities, and maintain clear communication across engineering and operations.
- Drive scheduling, resource planning, equipment readiness, commissioning, and test milestones.
- Maintain safety, operational discipline, configuration control, and documentation for UF₆ testing.
Qualifications
- B.S. or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Significant experience with complex mechanical/process systems, experimental or industrial testing, and system integration.
- Demonstrated project execution experience spanning design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and testing.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage personnel, and coordinate and motivate cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to build teamwork and open communication, clearly convey work plans, and adapt to changing team membership.
- Strong collaboration across engineering, operations, test planning, and data analysis.
- Experience with laser, vacuum, gas-handling, chemical/process, nuclear fuel-cycle systems, or UF₆ operations is highly desirable.
- Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills.
Security & Work Authorization
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required under 10 CFR Part 810 and/or applicable export control requirements (ITAR/EAR).
Working Conditions
- On-site in Oak Ridge, TN, Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime to meet deliverables.
- Field work requiring standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, wearing PPE, and occasionally lifting approximately 30–50 lbs.
- Periodic off-hours support for emergencies, outages, audits, or commissioning.
