Job Summary /Basic Function

The Department of Economics and Finance at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#113090) in Finance at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026.

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Conduct research in the following areas of finance:
    • Corporate finance.
    • Investments.
    • Financial markets and institutions.
    • Financial planning.
    • Behavioral finance.
    • Fintech.
    • Related fields.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
  • High-quality research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Required Education

A terminal degree in finance or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution is required by the appointment date.

Other Desirables

Applicants with the following will receive special consideration:

  • Professional experience in financial planning or wealth management.
  • Holding designations such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or NABE Certified Business Economist (CBE®).
  • Financial analytics and planning software (e.g., eMoney, Money Guide Pro , Morningstar) experience.
  • Data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python) experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and experiential learning.
