Speech Language Pathologist PRN Pediatrics

Special Kids is a Christian therapy and nursing center for children with special needs. Based in Murfreesboro, TN, we serve children ages birth through 21 years with a range of services, including speech‑language pathology.

We are looking for a Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide individualized therapy to children with communication disorders. The role includes assessment, treatment planning, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and documentation.

• Diagnose and evaluate speech and language skills and provide treatment for children with diverse communication disorders and developmental delays.
• Use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices as appropriate.
• Coordinate participation in multi‑sensory, educational, functional, and social activities to enhance patient development.
• Prepare patients for school and daily living and assist in lifestyle adjustments.
• Teach families and colleagues the best treatment procedures for carry‑over in multiple environments.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic medical records.
• Administer, score, and interpret evaluation reports to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Review treatment plans and modify goals based on patient progress.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to integrate speech‑language goals into daily activities.
• Refer patients for additional services as warranted.
• Attend meetings, conferences, and participate in professional development.
• Maintain high patient care productivity and attendance policy compliance.

• Master’s degree in Communication Disorders or Speech‑Language Pathology.
• Active and unencumbered Tennessee State SLP license.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with CPR training.
• Membership in ASHA recommended; HIPAA certification encouraged.

Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software, including electronic medical records.
