Overview
Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is seeking a passionate and innovative educator to join our Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology program. This full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#130010) offers the opportunity to inspire and mentor undergraduate students while contributing to meaningful research and service. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026. Salary and rank are commensurate with education and experience.
Responsibilities- Teach foundational and specialized undergraduate courses in speech-language pathology and audiology
- Supervise undergraduate honors research and student clinicians
- Advise and mentor students
- Engage in university and public service
- Pursue research and grant-writing aligned with your interests
- Phonetics
- Anatomy and Physiology of the Speech and Hearing Mechanism
- Hearing and Speech Science
- Speech Sound Disorders
- Neurogenic Communication Disorders
Teaching assignments will be aligned with the candidate's expertise and interests to support professional growth and impact.
Qualifications- Required
Education:
A terminal degree in speech-language pathology or a closely related field by the appointment date. Closely related fields may include communication science and disorders, neuroscience, hearing science, linguistics, health, and psychology. - Required License/Registration/Certification: Applicants must hold or be eligible for the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and Tennessee state licensure.
- Other Desirables: Experience in clinical supervision and intervention with linguistically and culturally diverse populations and prior research and grant-writing experience.
