PRN Expressive Therapist CTRS

Join our team as a PRN Expressive Therapist at TrustPoint Hospital! This includes Music, Art, or Recreation Therapy.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about behavioral health and eager to make a difference in the lives of our patients through compassion and innovative therapy techniques.

Schedule:

PRN Weekends

Plan, direct and implement activity therapy programs as a component of the patient’s treatment plan.

• Complete activity assessments through patient observation and patient/family interviews to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Plan, organize, direct, and implement activities to facilitate patient progress toward treatment goals.
• Develop and execute activity programs including therapeutic leisure skills, leisure education, and leisure awareness.
• Facilitate and lead activity sessions that improve patients’ mental and physical well‑being.
• Instruct patients in activities such as sports, dance, music, art, or relaxation techniques tailored to their needs.
• Develop treatment plans and implement activity interventions that align with patient goals.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities such as exercise, games, and community outings.
• Teach social skills necessary for patients to become or remain independent.
• Modify activities to suit the needs of specific groups.
• Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients, promptly addressing any concerns and prioritizing patient safety.

• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreational Therapy, or a related field (required).
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• At least three years of experience in recreation within a healthcare setting, with knowledge of the patient population served by the facility (required).
• Prior experience in recreation in a healthcare setting preferred.

• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or currently pursuing national certification; OR certification in a specialty area (Art, Dance, Music, etc.); OR clinical professional licensure (LCPC, LPC, etc.) with certification in an expressive therapy area (required).
• CPR and de‑escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
