DescriptionBarrett is seeking an R&D CNC Machinist II to fabricate precision parts that support prototype development, specialized fixturing, and equipment improvement. In this role, you'll work closely with engineers to turn concepts into functional components while also machining, modifying, and repairing parts for existing tools and equipment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on problem solving, variety in their work, and contributing directly to innovative product development.
Aboutthe Role
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, wire EDM, and surface grinding equipment with precision and efficiency.
- Document and perform accurate in‑process inspections to ensure high‑quality production throughout machining operations.
- Conduct routine operator maintenance to keep equipment running safely and reliably.
- Train team members on machining processes, best practices, and safe operation of equipment.
- Support the team by performing additional duties as assigned by leadership.
You're a skilled machinist with strong experience operating CNC mills, lathes, and precision equipment. You take pride in producing accurate, high‑quality work and maintain a sharp eye for detail during inspections and daily tasks. You're dependable, adaptable, and comfortable sharing your knowledge by training others when needed. Above all, you're a hands‑on problem solver who enjoys supporting innovative projects in a fast‑paced R&D environment.
Qualifications- High school diploma required.
- Up to 5 years’ experience as a CNC Machinist required.
- Proficient with common machine shop measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and depth micrometers.
- A flexible and adaptable work style.
