Production Operator - 1st Shift

The Assembly Producer will operate a press or assemble parts to form complete units or subassemblies at a press, filling machine, or conveyor line. The position is responsible for both accurately and thoroughly completing and maintaining all daily paperwork associated with the assembly process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to rotate and attain proficiency at a number of various work stations.
• Ability to read gauges and record findings.
• Ability to measure sizes of parts in millimeters.
• Ability to use a computer, especially SAP, OEE, and label programs.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high quality orientation.
• Move product, material, and/or equipment to and from designated areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe working environment with equipment and materials located in proper locations in accordance with 5S standards inside and outside of the facility.
• Safely and efficiently operate all machinery.
• Ability to work all designated shifts.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred.
• 12 months of related experience required.
• Must be fluent in English; able to read/write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to use a hand-held calculator to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• The employee will be required to stand for long periods of time and use upper body regularly to reach; lift up to 35 lbs. on a repetitive basis and to stoop, kneel, sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, and move about the facility.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to work additional hours and/or additional days during the payroll week, which can and will be in excess of forty (40) hours per payroll week. Working overtime is a condition of employment.
• Must be able to work prolonged periods under high heat and humid conditions inside the facility; and occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
