American Traveler is seeking an Emergency Department RN for a 12-week contract requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least one year of relevant nursing experience.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department-Trauma unit of a hospital setting
- Care for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
- 12-week assignment with a scheduled shift of 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM
- Utilize cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
- Document patient care in the electronic health record
- Active TN or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- Current ACLS certification (AHA) required
- PALS certification (AHA) may be required
- TNCC certification may be preferred or required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification may be required
- Minimum 1 year of emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Must have a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
- Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritize care based on acuity
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as ordered
- Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and neurological status for signs of deterioration
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary staff
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Follow infection-control and medication-safety protocols
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required
- Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate due to facility radius rules
- Optional Management of Assaultive Behavior (MOAB) training available
