Assistant Retail Manager – Full Time – Murfreesboro, Church Street

Join Sun Tan City in providing exceptional customer experiences as an Assistant Retail Manager. This full‑time role is located at our Church Street salon in Murfreesboro.

Sun Tan City is one of the largest family‑owned tanning salon chains in the country with approximately 250 salons in 20 states. The Assistant Retail Manager supports the Salon Director in maintaining a high‑energy, client‑centric environment and driving store performance. The role focuses on fostering superior client service, operational excellence, and team accountability.

• Monitor and manage daily salon operations.
• Lead by example to create a client‑centric experience and meet sales expectations.
• Maintain a professional, clean salon environment.
• Set clear goals and objectives for team members.
• Coach, train, and provide performance feedback.
• Generate sales reports, maintain inventory, and support Salon Director functions.
• Assist in controlling top‑line revenue and expenses.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels for maximum productivity and customer service, while controlling labor costs.
• Work nights, Saturdays, and Sundays as required for coverage.
• Travel to the bank when necessary.
• Work approximately 40–45 hours per week as a five‑day schedule.

• College education preferred.
• Management and/or sales experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Excellent customer service and operational knowledge.
• Problem‑solving, organizational, and planning skills.
• Team‑building and delegation abilities.

• Stand and walk for long periods.
• Bend at the waist to clean equipment.
• Lift or assist in lifting items and heavy boxes.
• Bend down to pick up trash, towels, etc.
• Perform salon cleaning duties (dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing).
