DescriptionBarrett Firearms Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Facility Security Manager to lead the protection of our employees, facilities, and critical assets. In this role, you will oversee all security operations while ensuring that our policies, procedures, and compliance programs meet the rigorous standards required of a Department of Defense contractor. This is a key position that supports our mission, safeguards our environment, and strengthens the secure foundation our teams rely on every day.
Aboutthe Role
- Oversee and maintain the Barrett security program, including policy development, implementation, and compliance for Department of Defense Contractor Facilities.
- Make critical security decisions that protect high‑value contracts and prevent unauthorized access; experience with classified work areas preferred.
- Ensure compliance with NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), Program Classification Guides, Contract Security documents, CTPAT requirements, and DoD Physical Security Program (DoD 5200.08‑R) to support secure operations.
- Lead risk mitigation efforts to solve complex security challenges and conduct internal audits, reporting key performance indicators as required.
- Deliver security training (visitor management, access control), monitor CCTV and alarm systems, manage facility access, and perform patrols to safeguard BFMI facilities.
- Support export compliance reviews, maintain accurate security records, compose detailed incident reports, and engage visitors and employees with professionalism.
You are a confident security professional with a strong grasp of DoD requirements and NISPOM standards. You make sound, timely decisions to protect people, facilities, and sensitive information. You excel at risk mitigation, communicate clearly, and maintain professionalism in every interaction. Above all, you are committed to maintaining a secure, compliant environment that supports mission‑critical operations.
- 5+ years in a security role (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Security training or certifications highly desirable
- Strong observational awareness, calm decision‑making under pressure, and strict discretion with sensitive information
- Excellent communication skills and professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient with security equipment (CCTV, alarms, communication systems) and knowledgeable in firearm safety and accurate reporting
