The Security Officer is responsible for conducting security patrols and monitoring premises to prevent and respond to security incidents. This role involves securing the church campus and personnel, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor, assisting with traffic control, and accurately logging all observations.

Compensation: $25 - $30 per hour DOQ

• Conduct church security patrols and monitor premises to prevent and respond to security incidents.
• When faced with a threat, choose the appropriate and legal level of force necessary to preserve the life and safety of our clients, including deadly force.
• Secure campus and personnel by patrolling campus, including buildings, parking lots, and athletic fields, as well as inspecting buildings and access points.
• Maintain a positive and courteous demeanor, and communicate with others in a professional and respectful manner.
• Assist with daily carpool and traffic control as needed.
• Accompany personnel and students between buildings and parking lots upon request.
• Formally log all observations, occurrences, and surveillance activities in a timely and accurate manner.
• Politely direct campus guests to appropriate log‑in points and professionally notify unwanted visitors to leave the campus grounds.

• Generally Sundays with potential for additional church activities and support of the full‑time school officer.
• Sunday hours are currently 9 am‑1:30 pm; all additional hours will vary.
• The officer may work other assignments within the company that do not conflict.

• Experience providing security services in church and school settings.
• Current, former, or retired law enforcement professional.
• Current Reserve/National Guard, former or retired U.S. military.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED trained.
• Capable of working 3‑4 Sundays per month.

• Must possess a current Tennessee Armed Security Guard License.
• Must have completed Active Shooter Certification.
• Must pass a physical fitness test administered by Serva.
• Must demonstrate proficient firearms skills and training.
• Must be willing to place oneself in harm’s way for the protection of others.
• Must pass a TBI criminal background check for work in educational facilities.
• Must be able to work in the United States, verified by a Federal E‑Verify check.

• Be able to do 50 push‑ups, then 50 sit‑ups (or a 70‑second plank), and 50 body‑weight squats in less than 8 minutes.
• Pass a prescribed pre‑hire shooting course.
• Work will be indoor and outdoor and require long periods of movement and activity.
• Employment typically requires standing, walking, and working in noisy environments.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lb.
• Carries firearms and other required security items at all times.

N/A. Eligibility for benefits requires working a minimum of 30 hours per week consistently for two consecutive months.
