Job DescriptionTITLE: Teacher
Qualifications- Certified Special Education Teacher

- Experience and education working with assigned student categories, e.g., SED, LD, TMH, EC, Autistic, Severe and Profound, Medically Fragile.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with administration, staff, and the school community.
- The teacher is to serve as a case manager for all students on their caseload.
- When requested, the teacher will serve as a behavioral specialist assisting staff in developing behavioral intervention plans for students attending the local school as well as for those receiving services in Tri-County classrooms.
- The teacher will provide instruction to students as part of the special education team, working with a variety of special education needs while minimizing stigma.
- The teacher will intervene on a temporary basis as an In‑School suspension supervisor for emotionally disturbed students in crisis, and as needed for other special education students as requested by district and Tri‑County administrative staff.
- The teacher will participate in IEP meetings as requested and will be prepared to share student progress, recommend program goals and objectives.
- The teacher shall attend all staff meetings at the local public school unless instructed otherwise.
- The teacher shall assume duties assigned by the building principal or Technical Assistant Supervisor to assist in overall supervision of the building.
- The teacher shall work the same hours as other teachers at the local public school building, normally six hours and forty‑five minutes per school day and 180 days per year.
- The teacher shall serve on building committees as requested.
- The teacher shall follow all guidelines in the Responsibilities of Teachers section of the policy manual.
- The teacher shall assume other responsibilities as requested by supervisor.
- Integration of technology into instruction: demonstrate continual growth in technology knowledge, plan and design effective learning environments, implement curriculum plans incorporating technology, use technology for assessment, and enhance productivity and professional practices.
REPORTS TO: Appropriate Building Principal or Technical Assistant Supervisor.
CompensationCompensation and benefits are governed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Salary: $58,000.00 – $75,000.00.
