Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced, results‑driven Plant Manager to lead our aluminum extrusion facility of over 300,000 sq ft. The role oversees operations that produce precision extruded and drawn tubing and custom shape profiles for markets such as Transportation, HVAC, Electrical, and Consumer Durables.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Leadership:
Provide strategic direction and daily management for all plant operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective production of high‑quality products that meet customer specifications. - Production Management:
Oversee operations across four extrusion presses, drawn benches, wound coil draw lines, cut‑to‑length operations, and a comprehensive fabrication department. - Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement:
Drive a culture of continuous improvement through deployment, sustainment, and optimization of lean manufacturing methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma). - Safety & Quality Assurance:
Champion a safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and implement robust quality control systems to maintain ISO & IATF standards and customer satisfaction. - Team Leadership & Development:
Mentor and develop a high‑performing team of managers, supervisors, and front‑line employees. - Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with the President and executive leadership on long‑term plans, capacity planning, capital expenditure justification, and budget control. - Resource Management:
Optimize labor, materials, and equipment utilization to maximize throughput, minimize waste, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive management experience within the aluminum extrusion industry.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to manage complex operations and large teams, preferably in a unionized plant environment.
- Strong technical understanding of aluminum metallurgy, extrusion processes, and downstream operations.
- Extensive experience implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement;
Six Sigma Green Belt preferred. - Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management or related field.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
