Teller/New Accounts Representative
Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is seeking a part‑time Teller/New Accounts Representative for our Murray branch. The primary duty is to assist customers and potential customers by providing friendly, accurate, and timely assistance, recommending and explaining banking services and products based on their needs, and to assist with client inquiries and complaint resolution.
Responsibilities- Receive and process customer financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, credit card payments, cashier's checks, fund transfers, and sell gift cards.
- Maintain and balance cash or teller drawer daily, while adhering to assigned transaction limits.
- Become proficient in the Bank’s products and services to provide solution‑based banking services for customer needs.
- Resolve customer concerns within authority and escalate to appropriate manager when needed.
- Answer phones, process wire transfers, stop payments, check orders, and create debit cards.
- Provide excellent customer service and deepen relationships by following established customer service standards.
- Open and close branch as schedule deems necessary.
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frame(s).
- Actively work on the Summit Progression Program to learn and develop assigned skills and increase proficiency.
- Adhere to Altabank Core Values.
- Keep management appropriately informed of area activities and any significant problems.
- Participate in community service and bank‑sponsored activities that support the mission and values of Altabank.
- Provide superior internal and external customer service, demonstrating self‑governance, courtesy, and respect toward all customers.
- Represent Altabank professionally, maintaining a positive attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Maintain a tidy work area and customer privacy.
- Regular, predictable and timely attendance to accomplish in‑person contact with customers.
- Maintain records of working hours and be prepared for periodic changes in duties.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of similar or related experience.
- Proficiency with detail when working with numbers and names.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to interact calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
- Regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
- Adaptability to change through time management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
Physical DemandsTypical duties include sitting, using hands in repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and occasional standing, walking, and lifting. Must be able to operate routine office equipment and work extended hours or travel off‑site when required. Visual acuity is needed for detailed tasks such as preparing data, transcribing, and reading computer screens. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for individuals with disabilities.
Compensation & BenefitsThe entry rate for this position is $17.00+ per hour. Compensation is analyzed individually based on location, experience, and education. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance for employees and eligible dependents, a health savings account option, an Employee Assistance Program, a health rewards program, a retirement savings plan (401(k) and Profit‑Sharing), short and long‑term disability, education and training benefits, and discounts on banking products.
Paid time off accrues at 0.0745 hours per hour worked for part‑time employees, up to a maximum of 240 hours per year for certain full‑time employees. Full‑time employees receive 6 paid holidays, and part‑time employees receive pro‑rated paid holidays. Additional state‑specific holiday pay may apply in Utah and Nevada.
