The Medical Assistant (MA) is a clinical support position at the Urban Indian Center of Salt Lake (UICSL), responsible for assisting in the delivery of culturally responsive and patient-centered primary care services. The MA prepares patients for examinations, collects essential health information, assists providers during visits, and supports safe and efficient clinical operations. Reporting to the Clinical Support Manager, the MA works closely with medical providers, nurses, behavioral health staff, public health staff, and front office personnel to maintain efficient clinic operations and coordinated care.
The role supports daily patient flow, clinical documentation, point-of-care (POC) procedures, specimen collection, immunizations, and essential administrative tasks that contribute to safe and timely patient care. The MA also contributes to maintaining clean and organized clinical environments, supporting supply readiness, and following established protocols for infection prevention, safety, and patient service excellence.
