Job DescriptionA Medical Assistant has accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. The role involves communicating clearly with patients through telephone and in‑person interactions.

Responsibilities- Providing Patient Care:
Under the direction of the clinician, assist in gathering patient visit information and condition. - Effective Communication:
Communicate clearly with patients via telephone and in‑person interactions. - Team
Collaboration:
Work with cross‑functional teams, maintaining attention to detail and follow‑through.
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license in the state where applying.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date.
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
- Current national MA certification from one of the following:
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
- Need to see, read, and assess patient information and equipment.
- Frequent verbal communication with patients, providers, and visitors.
- Manual dexterity for manipulating equipment, typing, medication preparation.
- Expected to lift, transfer patients, and move supplies up to heavy items.
- May be required to stand for extended periods.
Intermountain Health – Intermountain Medical Center, Murray, Utah
Hourly Rate$19.87 – $28.31 per hour (actual rate depends upon experience).
