Position Summary
The Patient Benefits Specialist serves as a trusted point of contact for patients navigating the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) and the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA). This entry-level role focuses on simplifying complex benefit processes, delivering compassionate patient support, and ensuring clear communication across internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-driven, and committed to providing an exceptional patient experience.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison for patients regarding medical-card benefits under the EEOICPA and RECA programs
- Guide patients through program processes and ensure understanding of available benefits
- Accurately enter, maintain, and track patient data using company systems
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, authorized representatives, case managers, and internal teams
- Utilize the company’s CRM system to document and update patient interactions
- Deliver outstanding customer service with a focus on continuous improvement and patient satisfaction
- Conduct patient satisfaction surveys and complete follow-up as needed
- Clearly communicate processes, timelines, and benefits to patients and stakeholders
- Schedule and manage follow-up calls based on individual patient needs
- Provide virtual support during patient assistance events
- Represent the company professionally while prioritizing patient needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
- May require travel between locations using a personal vehicle
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications- Familiarity with EEOICPA and/or RECA programs, or willingness to complete training
- Prior customer service experience required; telephone-based experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills suitable for a liaison role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Demonstrated commitment to patient confidentiality and privacy
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods
- Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard
- Ability to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, and kneel as required
- Close vision required for computer-based work
- Regular, predictable attendance required to meet business needs
USD $15.00 - $18.00 /Hr.
