Job Description
This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.
Base Pay Range$17.00/hr - $22.00/hr (depending on experience)
Shift and HoursFull-time, 40 hrs/week. Day Shift: 9:00am - 5:30pm. Includes working every weekend with 2 days off during the week. Required to work at least 4 holidays throughout the year.
LocationIntermountain Medical Center, Murray, UT.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
- Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
- Disposes of infectious waste and trash properly.
- Handles and cleans up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
- Follows all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, and appropriate donning and doffing of PPE.
- Maintains work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.
- Clean assigned areas and maintain facility’s safety and cleanliness.
- Follow all safety and health regulations and guidelines.
- Report any maintenance or sanitation issues to supervisor promptly.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet department needs.
- Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience. (Preferred)
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with customers requiring communication and understanding spoken information quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer, phone, and cable set‑up and use.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Work on hands and knees and bend to set‑up, troubleshoot, lift and carry supplies and equipment. Items of varying weights, up to heavy items.
